IPL is word, CSK is emotion !

The year 2020 has been unanimously and unofficially declared as a year that's cursed (Except for Reliance Mukesh Ambani who is singing Jio dhan dhana dhan right now).This year started with Covid-19 then job losses, economic shambles, many of our favorite celebrities death and many more not so expected news, gladly the year has just 3 more months left, so god bless us all to change the momentum of this year like what Rahul Tewatia did!. We as curious consultants started this site to spread positivity not just within us but also to as many folks as possible. So we felt the urge to take a topic that is entertaining, and debatable for fun. We promise we will try to entertain you as much as the main source of entertainment ‘Indian News channels’, which are busy chasing India’s most required truth which is ……. Guess? What is Deepika wearing for NCB investigation? . Since they are busy, we decided to pen down about an event that can unite and divide people at the same time. What can possibly unite and divide people at the same time and still not be completely political as well? The Answer we thought was ‘Sports’. Yes, sports represent a billion-dollar business—that’s no secret. But what you might not realize is the immensely positive impact sports have on viewer’s mindset on dissociating with their monotonous routine. Having said that, our lives have found something exciting something in between ‘ Am I Audible?’ or ‘ Are you able to see my screen’ to pay attention to since 19^th Sep. That’s right, since 19^th of September people have some reason to get united, get divided and still not be completely political (Let’s leave Modi out of it, I mean Lalit Modi). So this blog is going to feature about that one sporting event, the Indian Premier League which recently broke the viewership records on its opening game with 20 crore views on a single day.( That’s right , it's almost 1/7th of India's population where only 3/7 th of people have access to watch tv/ott) .Also this is a record for being the highest ever opening day viewership for any sporting league in any country.

So being a consultants blog, here are some mind boggling numbers about how much people embraced IPL more than ever as for all cricketing fans out there, it's a feast after 6 months of hunger.

 

Disclaimer : Though we started of saying this blog is going to be about IPL, we assure you it is going to be about IPL but more importantly there is going to be some serious bias towards the only club in Yellow ( Whistle podu Ilana Vaiya Moodu)

 

Some lesser known facts about this year’s IPL:

·         Sponsored by an Indian Unicorn despite the fact that the startup has certain percentage of VC funds from Tencent, China

·         The IPL Franchise with no revenue from the Tickets are earning from 50% of broadcaster’s revenue will be shared among eight team which is approximately 200 crores per franchise. Adding to this each franchise will another Rs 12-14 crore per franchise through title sponsor ‘Dream 11’ and local revenues like jersey sponsorship and other partners will fetch 250 crores. After deduction with player fees, the bottom line of each franchise will be approximately 100 crores( Mind you this may not be as good as other years but something is better than nothing)

·         This IPL will be a big miss for Binny fans… I mean Mayanti langar fans as she won’t be part of the anchoring team

·         This IPL has total of 17 players who are playing with an age above 35 and retired .  Out of this 17, 7 players are part of CSK ( CSK won 2018 IPL when they were branded as ‘Dads Army’ , ‘ Chennai Senior Kings)

With all these highlights there with Pooran flying on the boundary ropes like ‘ Thikuddhithen siddharth’ is another highlight which is worth the mention. But being CSK fan ourselves, we asked this question What’s going on in MSD fans and CSK fans head now to ours ?

We felt , it's disheartening not because they lost the match but how they lost . Intent has been amiss in CSK's game so far . After Dhoni's retirement, those fans who were super excited to see him Dhoni aggressive to prove a point has only been disappointed so far ( Everyone wants the vintage thala).  Adding salt to the injury, the departure of Suresh Raina for personal reason has not only removed the left and right hand combination in batting order but also reduced the bench strength of csk . As a csk fan, I tuned into ipl with positivity with hope , but the season so far has only made me ageing is real , nobody can take fitness for granted . Lack of off- spinners and complacent leg spinners like Piyus chawla make fans pray every over with the hope that it does not cross 20 runs( Chawla reminds of the fact that at times in life you may have phase where.you might suck at what you are doing but you can't help it ) ( Of course I can't be mean to a baby faced 35+ older man). What's more disappointing than much trolled Murali Vijay 's batting is his fielding ( Running like somebody gave him a field punishment). Ambati Rayudu , is like that one consultant who consistently does thorough research and makes a stellar deck but then his partner often forgets him for no reason . An absolute gem who can bat in any order the team needs and deliver . Other than Rayudu and faf nothing in the csk squad has worked for csk so far. If CSK was Gotham, currently Faf is the Batman that gotham deserved and needed.

The team with 5 million followers have a lot of positives that it can capitalise on , the fact that only 2 out 12 times ( the favorites or league toppers have won the ipl) so it's never late. After 6 months long time , csk players looking rusty for now , hopefully they  find rhythm before it's too late ( And we know how the lion roars 🦁) . As an ardent CSK fans, we patiently wait for the moment to 'Whistle podu'

 India maybe blue but IPL is gonna be yellow!
